Summer Family Photos
We’re taking family photos tomorrow at the gorgeous Filoli! It’s going to be beautiful—the hydrangeas are in bloom (my favorite!) and the sprawling property has something special around every corner. I don’t think I talk about it much on here but for my photography business, I always offer styling help. I create a style and mood board for every session. So naturally, I do the same for myself. It helps me figure out what we all should wear and get a visual sense for how things are coming together. It’s an easy way for me to see if we need to add more pattern or texture to our outfits to make it more visually interesting. I typically start with my outfit (or the mom’s if it's a client) and then build from there. For this summery session, I chose a floral dress in blues and greens. For Levi I went with a green polo he already owns that pulls out some of the greens from the dress. I wanted to add in more pattern and knew Henry had to be in a bubble so this is a must, but I also have this adorable denim one as a back up that I’ll pair with a peter pan collar onesie underneath. Brendan will have a subtle pattern too in this short sleeve oxford with a blue and white stripe paired with a classic pair of chinos. Shop all the looks here, plus a few others.
