Hanukkah Tablescape
I love the way this Hanukkah tablescape came together. Classic Hanukkah colors—blue, silver, gold, white—were easy to find in what I already had at home. The spikey silver ornaments in large and small strewn across a simple piece of gold velvet runner add such interest to the table without any effort. They’d work fabulously for a New Year’s party as well. I actually had the runner from a Rosh Hashanah honey tasting a few years back and it continues to feel like a staple. I always wish I could link these gorgeous glasses, but they’re hand blown by a local artist and my mom bought them years and years ago and then recently gifted them to me. They’re beautiful and I’ve been looking for something shareable ever since, but have been coming up short. It feels like something you might have to search for at estate and antique sales or art fairs.
We did a really easy latke spread. I used this classic recipe and then bought all kinds of trimmings to have along side of them. Quick hack for easy latkes: use a food processor to grate everything and then put it all in a salad spinner to ring out the excess water! SO much faster and easier than using a towel and squeezing!
