The Halloween season is over and it was maybe the best one yet? I think we got to do everything I hoped for and then some. We went to multiple pumpkin patches (including Lemos Farm for the first time), Filoli’s Nightfall event (which was even better than I imagined), took a Halloween Thomas the Tank Engine ride through the mountains, carved pumpkins, took our annual costume photos and made all kinds of treats. I got creative with dinner and snacks, making mummy hotdogs, jack-o-lantern pizza pockets and used bat and pumpkin cookie cutters to cut out sandwiches, cheese and pancakes (basically whatever I could cut!). I even made a char-boo-terie tart, which honestly looked fun, but didn’t taste great. Halloween weekend we went on a “boo walk” in our Halloween pjs and looked at decorations and got together with friends for a big pot luck dinner and trick or treating. It was lots of fun and it’s making me even more excited for the holiday season with both boys. All the Halloween decorations are down, but I left the pumpkins even though social media is making me feel like I’m ready to jump straight into Christmastime. I always thought it was ridiculous to start decorating so early, but the past few years I get why it’s fun to get into the season and make your house all cozy.
