Celebrations & Traditions
Prepping for Levi’s birthday, I’ve found myself reflecting on traditions—the ones I had growing up and ones I’d like to create for our own family. Life can feel so serious and dark these days, I love the idea of celebrating even the little things. It doesn’t have to be a birthday or a big occasion and the celebration can even be something small itself—a balloon and a book for the first day of school, a special treat after a brave trip to the doctors. Adding more delight and whimsy into our lives is my new mission.
I mentioned adding these personalized gift tags in one of my weekly whimsy posts. They’re so sweet and add an extra personal touch. I’ve been waiting for a birthday to use these chic birthday number candle holders. I love that they’re pretty enough for an adult, but fun enough for a kid and you can put different colored and length candles in them. We tested it out for Levi’s birthday (both in his morning pancakes and his cake) and I love them! For Henry’s half birthday I got him this sweet little birthday hat. And you can never go wrong with glittering stars, streamers, and a big number balloon. All of which adorned our kitchen breakfast nook for Levi’s big day!
