Americana Edit

This year, I really loved the idea of mix and match patterns in red, white and blue for the 4th of July holiday. A red gingham skirt paired with a simple white tee and a layer of blue cashmere over the shoulders. Or a patterned blue dress (or this one) with a red sweater. Classic light washed jeans with a gingham top and a fisherman cardigan as the sun sets. You also can’t beat a classic white dress (a summer staple) or red gingham (for the holiday or a fun outing berry picking). I had so much fun pulling from my and the boys' existing wardrobes and realized how much of it we already had. I tend to gravitate towards those colors in general, especially in summer clothes. It made our suitcases extra festive and fun while packing. (Have I mentioned the boys got monogrammed packing cubes and I’m obsessed?)

For the boys, these pajamas could not be missed. They almost had too many outfits to choose from, red and white stripes (baby version) paired with navy shorts or do faded red and white striped shorts (baby version) with a classic polo. In the end for Henry I went with red gingham overalls and then as it cooled off the little whale sweater onesie. We basically wore red, white and blue all weekend because I couldn’t pair down on what I was packing. These little plaid pants have a tiny pocket in the back—I can’t handle the cuteness. Levi wore this striped shirt with navy and fireworks socks we found in the Target dollar section.
