In My Swim Bag
Levi’s been taking swim lessons this summer and I was not expecting it to be so fun for me. I’m not sure what it is about swim in particular because we do lots of mommy and me type of activities and classes together, but every time we drive home from the lesson I have an overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude that I am able to be home with him and take him to these kinds of things! It’s been so sweet to get in the pool with him and practice and even though he’s a little nervous about it, we both have so much fun.
I definitely like to be prepared and have everything packed and ready to go, so I keep our swim bag packed all the time so I don’t forget anything. After each class, I replenish any of the things I may have used so that it’s all ready again on the day-of.
What’s In My Bag
I have the large Boat and Tote with long handles, but I’m considering getting the XL for a roomier fit. I can fit everything in this one, but it’s definitely packed.
TOWELS
I am currently still getting in the pool with Levi for his lesson, so I pack one for each of us. I was just at HomeGoods and they have so many fun pool towels right now—whether you like a classic cabana stripe or a fun print for your little.
The easiest water shoe! I like the look of Native’s slightly more which we also have a love, but Levi can put these on himself they slide on so easily, so I typically choose these for swim days.
Our swim pool requires reusable diapers so we have this one, but I also pack some disposable just in case! Just remember that swim diapers are not meant to hold in pee, so wait to put this on till you get to the pool!
DIAPERS & WIPES
I usually pack 4-5 and then don’t have to worry about refilling too often.
I swear by the Pipette sunscreen, it doesn’t leave the same greasy, sticky feeling of other sunscreens and works great! I put ours in a Solar Buddy for super easy application.
CHANGE OF CLOTHES
We drive to swim in our suits (with a regular diaper until we get there) so I pack a change of clothes for each of us.
Levi has sensitive skin so we always rinse off after getting out of the pool and use a body wash and lotion so that I don’t have to worry about it if it’s not a bath night.
These are amazing. I always keep one in my diaper bag too. Our wet suits go in here to keep everything else in our bag dry!
SNACKS & WATER BOTTLE
Swimming is a workout! I always bring a few easy snack and a water bottle for after the class is over.
POUCHES
I love a pouch. I usually pick them up at HomeGoods. In my swim bag, I have one for the snacks, one for diapers and wipes, one for our change of clothes, basically everything.
