4th of July Tablescape

Hosting a 4th of July barbecue? Level it up with a simple, but beautiful tablescape. We have this navy checkered tablecloth (old, similar) that’s so versatile, we pull it out all the time. It just screams summertime. Add in some red and white napkins, little flags and white hydrangeas and boom, a patriotic table without much fuss! What I love about the tablecloth, napkins and runner is that they’re all pieces that can be used for lots of different occasions, so they don’t feel too limited, but put together they’re just right for the fourth. These blue and white striped napkins are a little more on the nose, but so sweet with the scalloped edge—I think they’d still work as a summer napkin outside of the holiday, but are overall less versatile year round.

I think you could also have a lot of fun creating a table that’s a little less predictable than the stripes and checkered patterns we’ve come to expect for the 4th of July. You could use the red, white and blue colors, but mix in patterns that aren’t as expected like these block print napkins or these. I had too much fun pulling inspiration for this post and now I want a million more napkins and tablecloths. I’m also working on expanding my glassware collection to add in more interesting shapes and colors. The blue glasses I have here are handblown and artist made, but I linked some similar colored ones and it’s something I’m always looking out for at antique stores, estate sales and auctions.
