10 Ways to Savor Summer
Summer is well underway and I’m pleased to say that I feel like we’ve been taking full advantage. Oftentimes I spend too much time romanticizing what summer should feel like and end up in a perpetual planning mode where I don’t actually do much and end up disappointed. This year I’m focusing on more of the small stuff that makes summer feel different from the rest of the year and so far it’s been going great. It’s also easier if I’m looking at it from the perspective of a toddler—everything is still pretty new and exciting and so I’m trying to live in that world too, with homemade smoothies and trying out new parks, eating in the sunshine and lots and lots of water play. Even playdates with friends hit different in the summer. We do have one trip planned and I’m hoping to squeeze in some weekend getaways too, but just switching perspective, realizing it doesn’t have to be perfect and just starting to do things and not just plan them has already helped me to soak in summer. Here are ten things on my bucket list to savor summer.
